“If I Stay” actress Chloe Grace Moretz impressed on the VMA red carpet with her trendsetting style and elegant beauty thanks to celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh. Here’s what Mai used to achieve Chloe’s beauty look at last night’s VMAs.
Chloe’s beauty look was a complete collaboration between makeup, hair, and wardrobe, while taking into consideration she is a young actress attending an MTV red carpet event so they wanted to keep it fresh and fun. She’s wearing Louis Vuitton pink pants and lacy burgundy top with LV monogram accents. While Chloe typically favors a sophisticated bold lip, this time the emphasis is all on the eyes and skin for a final look that Mai described as simply creamy and pretty.
Mai prepped skin with moisturizer containing cucumber for a cooling, calming effect. Then she tapped on TEMPTU’s Undereye Concealer inFair 104 where the skin needed extra coverage, including under the eyes and around the nose.
After prepping the skin, she used TEMPTU AIRpod Foundation in Ivory and blended the color down through the neck area for even color all over. She applied TEMPTU AIRpod Blush in Pale Pink on the apples of the cheeks, finishing with a soft mist of AIRpod Highlighter in Pink Pearlabove the cheekbone.
On the eyes, she applied Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow quad in Sophisticate, using a pale pink, soft gold, brown, and plum to create a subtle smoky effect by concentrating the dark colors along the lashline and then lining the bottom lashline with Makeup Forever’s Artist Liner in Matte Dark Brown M60. Lashes received two coats of Lancome Definicils. Because Chloe has naturally amazing brows, they require very little grooming with Laura Mercier’s Eye Brow Pencil in Fair Blonde.
Finally, because the emphasis of the look is on the eyes, Mai created a more neutral full lip using Tarte Power Pigment in Exposed (nude pink).
