Hair Trends: Parisian Influence Takes Over the LA Beauty Scene

In recent years an array of Parisian fashion styles has made its way to Los Angeles and its influence on West Coast style is taking hold. Angelenos are forgoing traditional Hollywood glamour and So Cal comfort for a more sophisticated, cosmopolitan look, beginning with their hair.

Celebrity hairstylist José Eber, who is originally from France, is one stylist at the forefront of this trend at his Beverly Hills salon. “Los Angeles has always been a hotbed for glamour,” José explains. “We are reinvigorating Hollywood with a more refined, effortless, cool-girl look.”

For Angelenos looking to emulate French hair, José recommends edgy haircuts, bold color and effortless style. To keep up with demand for these looks, José recently brought on Charlie de Paris, a colorist and makeup artist who splits her time between Beverly Hills and Paris. Through her work, she transforms plain Janes into Bridget Bardot-types, creating bold, sophisticated looks that enhance a woman’s natural features. Charlie’s celebrity clientele include Catherine Deneuve, Carla Bruni, Virginie Ledoyen and Kate Moss.
