Drawing inspiration from the severe yet golden colors of a desert landscape, Jo Bellamy’s newest collection, Alchemy, showcases the impact that light can play on hair, whether through subtly changing colors or casting shadows and illumination to highlight and transform certain accents. “I worked with the palest silvery light, moving through to golden hues with accents of peach, pink, violet, orange and yellow,” Bellamy says. “Color was used in a blending technique, smudging it seamlessly to create movement through the palette, while hair was ruched, texture set, braided and sewn with golden thread to evoke the shape and form of the desert.”
