NYFW Hair: Retro Curls by Metro Look at Chromat

At Chromat's Fall/Winter 2014 presentation at New York Fashion Week, Lead Hairstylist T. Cooper of Metro Link, sponsored by Rusk, created classic, retro looks to complement the brand's strong, architectural designs. Cooper and Chromat designer Becca McCharen were both inspired by 1920's finger-waves, but desired a non-literal translation of the style. The result was a look dubbed the "Robotic Finger Wave," due to the strong, futuristic overtones of the collection as a whole.

Get the Look:
1. Smooth hair using the Rusk Heat Freak blow dryer, then spray with W8less Hairspray.

2. Using the Rusk Heat Freak curling iron, create pin-curls through entire head.

3. After curls have set, define finger waves in the front and stick to forehead and over ears using Rusk's Glue.

4. Finish the style with Freezing Spray for optimal hold.
