Legendary hairstylist Odile Gilbert partnered with Kérastase to create a cool braided "hat" hairstyle at the Creatures of the Wind Fall 2014 show. Odile used products from the brand's Couture Styling collection, as well as Touche Perfection to create the look that was both tousled yet chic.
Get the Look:
Step 1: On damp hair, create a deep right side part and distribute Mousse Bouffante throughout.
Step 2: Apply Lift Vertige at the roots and blow dry hair in sections with hands.
Step 3: On dry hair, disperse Touche Perfection throughout for softness and shine, followed by Powder Bluff for added texture.
Step 4: Starting at the part, create a large braid that swoops down around the face going towards the back right side of the head. Spray with Laque Dentelle as you go to set the look.
*Note, for added fullness and definition, add in three small strips of hair extensions one shade lighter than your natural color along the side part at the top of the head before creating the braid.
Step 5: Continue braiding with the rest of the length so the braid sits at the back of the head, and secure with a clear elastic.
Step 6: Using your fingers, lightly rough up the front of the braid and top of the head for a slightly electric, undone look.
Step 7: Spray with more Laque Dentelle to keep the style in place.
The overall effect is an effortlessly cool, braided "hat" style that's casually stylish.
