“Nothing in the city says romance like a hidden alleyway. It makes you think of those noir-ish Helmut Newton photographs or Morris Lapidus' stairs to nowhere, little promises that can't help but spark our curiosity. And maybe curiosity is nothing more than an invitation from our imagination. How that manifests itself depends on us: be it a tuft of black licorice cotton candy or a dark mother of pearl dress,” said Cynthia Rowley, when describing the inspiration for her Fall 2013 collection.
Alterna stylist, Esther Langham created a hair do to compliment Rowley’s collection. “I wanted to compliment the romantic details of Cynthia’s collection with a texturized style that evoked the same amorous feelings,” said Langham.
“I started by adding extra volume and lift from root to tip while still maintaining a feather light feel.” First, apply Alterna Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Blast to the roots of damp hair for added lift at the scalp, and Alterna Bamboo Volume 48 Hour Sustainable Volume Spray from root to tip for allover body. Then roughly blow dry.
After, spray hair with an even veil of Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Working Hair Spray.
Divide into 1” sections and create waves by wrapping hair—away from the face—around a large barrel curling iron, leaving the ends un-touched.
Last but not least, mist hair with Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist and break up the curls using your fingers.
