To ease your clients into the trend, Kevin Givens, TIGI international cosmetic director, advises, “Apply a small amount to the middle of the mouth, and have her ‘smoosh’ out the color to the edges to create a stain.”
Thankfully, there’s a red for everyone. “Generally speaking, cool skin tones should stick with blue-reds, and warm skin tones with orange-reds,” notes Givens. “But, she can still go more ‘universal’ by treading lightly with whatever color she chooses!”
Pair glossed cherry bomb lips with a sunny, minimal look—think lashes maxed out with black mascara and lightly bronzed cheeks, forehead and nose—and she’s ready for her red debut.
