Solano Serves Up Hot Hairstyles at Jenny Packham Fashion Show

Solano served as the official hot-tools sponsor of the Jenny Packham fashion show where winners of the “Show Your POWER Behind the Chair” contest were welcomed backstage to get a firsthand look at how hair gets haute during New York Fashion Week.
 
Solano was a perfect match for Jenny Packham, a bridal and ready-to-wear designer with fans such as Kate Middleton and Angelina Jolie.
 
“Solano is at the forefront of styling innovation and is dedicated to supporting the careers of stylists through educational opportunities,” said Nicole Dooley, Senior Brand Manager for Solano. “Jenny Packham epitomizes trend setting, so we are thrilled to not only serve as a sponsor of her show, but to offer two up-and-coming hairstylists the chance to experience all that takes place backstage from a hairstyling perspective during New York Fashion Week.”
 
Charita Taylor, a licensed hairstylist from Chicago, IL, and Lauren Rynders, a cosmetology student from Bellingham, WA, won a prize package valued at approximately $5,000, including an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City. There, Solano provided both winners with behind-the-scenes access at the Jenny Packham show to observe lead hairstylist Leonardo Manetti and assist his team of stylists as they created the models’ looks for the show. Solano provided the team with professional dryers, flat irons and curling irons to bring Manetti’s vision to life.
 
For a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience, contestants submitted at least one photo capturing a Solano dryer or flat iron being used to create a runway-worthy hairstyle, as well as at least one photo highlighting the finished look. Contestants were judged on originality, creativity and demonstrated use of Solano tools.
 
In addition to the experience of being backstage at the Jenny Packham show, Taylor and Rynders were also awarded a Solano styling tool kit to help them continue creating fashionable, trendsetting hairstyles.
