The Call:
I was totally surprised because it was my first time and I knew the competition was strong. But I was elated to receive so much encouragement from peers and friends who believed in me.
The Win:
That was even more of a surprise because one of the guys I worked with told me the night of the awards that he didn't think I had a chance of winning. So I wasn't keeping my hopes up. When my name was called, it took a second for it to actually register. My son was with me and we just looked at each other in amazement and I remember saying, "No way!"
