Cosmetologists Chicago Announces 2015 Jerry Gordon Salon Business Leadership Award

Cosmetologists Chicago initiated a new award for excellence during a special ceremony at America’s Beauty Show, March 21-23, 2015. “There are many awards for hairstyling excellence and other creative aspects of the salon industry,” said CC President Denise Provenzano. “But there are few to recognize the business side of our business.”
 
To remedy that, and to continue a tradition of innovation in the industry, Cosmetologists Chicago created The Jerry Gordon Salon Business Leadership Award. “We named this award for a man who has led our association, led business seminars through out the world and has run a successful salon in Chicago for more than 50 years,” continued Provenzano.

Jerry Gordon, now in his mid-70s, continues to see clients five days a week at J. Gordon Designs in Chicago, with no intention of retiring. His business acumen, as well as his hairdressing talent, and passion for the industry are known worldwide.

Jerry had the pleasure of presenting the 2015 Jerry Gordon Salon Leadership Award to his good friend and fellow leader in Cosmetologists Chicago, Frank Gironda.

Frank, who recently sold his highly successful Frank Gironda Salons & Spas in Naperville, IL, to his long time business partner Chris Damolaris, also served on the Cosmetologists Chicago Board of Directors, and as president. He continues to provide leadership and guidance to the association.

“At Cosmetologists Chicago,” noted Gironda on accepting the award, “our only goal is to move the association, and the industry, forward. I am grateful for all the opportunities my involvement with Cosmetologists Chicago has afforded me, and look forward to working with a new generation of leadership, as well as our current outstanding leaders.”

In attendance at this special award ceremony was the Cosmetologists Chicago Board of Directors along with selected Up-And-Coming Leaders of tomorrow from their salons.
