In Neon Blitz, the latest collection from the Sassoon Academy led by international creative director Mark Hayes, inspiration comes not from celebrity style or runway fashion, but rather from London’s underground—its club scene, that is.
Bright neon colors pop from the page, while angular, textured shapes evoke the whimsy and cool of the New Wave era. The collection brings to mind the fresh beats, fashion and fun found on the dance floor, fusing it with raw, yet tempered, elegance. “This new mood means a new style, a youthful union of art, fashion and music all bathed in the dazzling light of full-on fluoro,” exclaims Hayes. “Intricate techniques and delicate textures are strobe-lit with our new cyber-glow technique, creating streamlined slashes of super-accurate, hyper-real color.” Truly, the future has never looked so bright!
