The bohemian look of Erin Fetherston’s collection flows straight through to the beauty with models rocking long, loose locks that emanate a feeling of lightness and effortlessness. “The collection has a very cool, undone vibe,” explains Davines Lead Stylist Joseph DiMaggio. “So, I wanted the hair to look comfortable and lived-in.” To get the disheveled yet chic look, DiMaggio creates a center part and layers in Davines Your Hair Assistant Blowdry Primer at the roots before using his fingers to blow-dry the models’ tresses. He then takes vertical sections and applies Davines More Inside This Is A Dry Texturizer and brushes it through the hair to distribute. “We’re creating a nice, soft fluffiness with movement,” he shares. DiMaggio then uses a ¾-inch wand to craft a back-and-forth wave through the vertical sections, twisting the hair once in front for a few seconds and then behind. He continues this wave until he reaches the ends, which he leaves straight, and then brushes through the hair. “It's a super loose, very nice and relaxed real wave,” he says. “It looks natural.” He finishes the look with a spritz of Dry Texturizer and uses his hands and fingers to fluff the models’ tresses. “Dry Texturizer is awesome because it's not too wet so it doesn't give you that crunchy feel,” he says. “And it’s heat-activated so you can heat it up with your fingers and go in where you need to add more texture.”
GLAMSQUAD Director of Makeup Artistry, Kelli Bartlett, not only tapped into “light side of the moon” for inspiration but she also took the designer’s new mommy status into consideration when crafting her makeup design. “Erin is a new mom herself so I wanted to incorporate that new mommy glow into the mix,” she says. The look starts with beautiful, fresh-faced skin that she achieves by applying Skyn Iceland Artic Hydrating Balm and IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream using a Beautyblender. “The balm gives skin that humid look and the cc cream mixed with a Beautyblender gives you hyper-real skin that’s really natural-looking,” she explains. “It’s like you’re having your best skin day ever!” Bartlett hydrates and plumps the models’ lips with a lip mask, Skyn Iceland’s Plumping Lip Gel, but then leaves lips bare. “If you were going to be constantly kissing your newborn baby you probably wouldn’t want too much on there!” she laughs. For the eyes, Bartlett adds a little NARS matte bronzer to lids for depth, blinks one coat of Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes in Black Vinyl mascara through the top lashes only, and then curls lashes. “I’m a big fan of a curled lash so you’re going to see a lot of North-facing lashes today,” she says. “And especially for new moms, it's important to look as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as you can!”
For the nail look, Glamsquad Lead Nail Artist Christina Quercia chose two nudes, opaque with a touch of blush Essie in Topless & Barefoot for tootsies and sheer with a hint of blush Essie in Brides to Be for tips. “[The design] has a very clean, natural, organic and free-spirited feel,” she says.
