Recently hosting its illustrious Fall Atelier at the posh Waldorf Astoria, Intercoiffure America • Canada (ICA) rolled out the red carpet for the crème de la crème of the pro-beauty world.

“Our revitalized organization provides networking opportunities between topnotch salon owners, mentoring programs for their young talent, and creative workshops held by renowned beauty artists such as Vivienne Mackinder, our new ICA fashion director,” enthuses ICA president Lois Christie. “The best business and artistic talent in our industry now belong to the new Intercoiffure.”

With mega companies like P&G Wella Professionals, L’Oréal Professionnel and Logics playing important supporting roles, Fall Atelier guests witnessed more than a dozen presentations by industry stars, including Nick Arrojo, Malcolm Edwards and Gina Khan.

Who else dared to thrill? Oribe’s “Light and Dark”; Laurent D’s shear delight: “École Privé 2010” (sponsored by Privé); Vivienne Mackinder and Mary Brunetti with “It’s All About the Silhouette” (sponsored by ICA); and Woody and Amy Michleb, who made things “appear” in their “Magic Show” (sponsored by Kenchii Cutting Edge Shears).

Two other important highlights: Illustrious leader John Paul DeJoria, co-owner of John Paul Mitchell Systems, received the ICA Visionary of the Year Award during a standing ovation. And ICA pinned 28 new members, including Nick Arrojo, Mary Brunetti, Sonya and Christopher Dove, Jim Markham, Oribe, and Laurent D!
