How to Get the Look: Moroccanoil at London Fashion Week

It's not fashion week unless Moroccanoil is there.

This week in London, the company worked two shows: Temperley London AW18 and Kristian Aadnevik AW18.

Moroccanoil Global Ambassador Antonio Corral Calero was in charge of Temperley. He said that inspiration was taken from the courageous pioneering women of the 1930’s, such as Marlene Dietrich and Amy Johnson, but updated. These women, while empowering others, never sacrificed their femininity; they were always glossy and polished, which took time to achieve in that era, but doesn’t have to in ours.

Get the Look:

  1. To protect the hair from the hot tools, spray a generous amount of Perfect Defense over the entire hair.
  2. Next, prep the hair by applying a pump of Moroccanoil Treatment from root to ends to set the perfect foundation for styling (Moroccanoil Treatment Light for models with blonde or fine hair)
  3. Using a tail comb, create a deep side parting on the left side, using the arch of the eyebrow as a guide.
  4. Section the hair from crown to ear on both sides, and bring forward. Using the Boar Bristle 45mm brush, take the remaining back section and blow dry to a smooth finish.
  5. On the still-damp front section apply a golf-ball size of Volumizing Mousse cocktailed with one pump of Thickening Lotion, to help the waves set. Ensure the products are distributed evenly throughout the hair.
  6. For the front section comb away from the face, using the same comb take the front section and push it forward towards the temple. Pinch the wave that will appear between index and middle finger and place a long sectioning clip either side of your fingers to create the positioning of the first wave. Once secured, drop the fingers down about an inch and repeat the movements above to create two further waves.
  7. Repeat on the left side to create two waves.
  8. With the clips still in place, liberally spritz with Luminous Hairspray Extra Strong, then blow dry on a low-speed setting.
  9. Remove clips and gently brush through once with the Ceramic Paddle Brush.Complete the look with a veil of Glimmer Shine for a healthy glossy finish.

Calero was also running the Kristian Aadnevik Autumn/Winter 2018 hair. He said that the designer was inspired by Swan Lake, so this look needed to make the traditional ballet knot modern and relevant for today’s woman. It is relaxed yet wearable as it is meant to reflect a dancer after spending 12 hours in the theatre.

Get the Look:

  1. Prep the hair by applying two pumps of Moroccanoil Treatment from root to ends to set the perfect foundation for styling (Moroccanoil Treatment Light for models with blonde or fine hair)
  2. Apply Dry Texture Spray all over the hair in a zigzag motion to amplify the dimension of the hair (for coarse hair use Smoothing Lotion to make hair controllable)
  3. To create a base for the ponytail, gather hair upwards using the Ceramic Paddle Brush into a vertical point between the crown and hairline, creating a perfect symmetry between the eyes
  4. Secure the ponytail with an elasticated hairband
  5. Apply one pump of Smoothing Lotion into palms and caress the product evenly through the lengths of the ponytail to ensure even hydration
  6. Loop the ponytail around the elastic, twisting as you wrap to create the knot, and secure the tip with a bobby pin ensuring that it is not visible
  7. Once the structure is complete, deconstruct the appearance by warming Molding Cream in the palm of the hands and with fingertips gently loosening the baby hairs at the nape of the neck and those framing the face
  8. Finish the look with a generous spritz of Luminous Hairspray Medium.
