Retro '70s Western at Richard James AW15

Designer Richard James describes his collection saying, “The AW15 Transandine collection hitches an exhilarating journey by a plucky band of Brits through the snow-peaked, sun-stippled mountains on South America. Base colours, soft yet rich textures and Aztec prints pay homage to the men of the Transandine.”

Session stylist Daniel Jordan explains how he came up with the hairstyle look. “Inspired by the texture of the clothing, I created this look to get that retro feel like an old English gent from a '70s western film. It is the modern take on an old classic.”

GET THE LOOK
“After wetting the hair down, I used a pea-sized amount of GO24·7 Hair Gel and combed it through the hair to distribute it evenly. I then dried the hair using a Denman and wrap-dry technique so that the hair hugged the head to lay in a natural shape. I then lifted random pieces at the roots, especially around the front, to create a height and movement. I ran a small amount of GO24·7 Grooming Cream through the hair with my fingers to break up the look and to create a natural flow to the hair. I then pulled all the hair back from the face to create definition and texture. I sprayed GO24·7 Control Spray on to a vent brush and combed it through to distribute the spray evenly, and then finished off the look by running my fingers through the hair to create natural movement and fluidity.”
