Holiday Hairstyles: Cascading Waterfall Braids by Sonna Brado

For clients looking for something a little different this holiday season, KMS California Artistic Director Sonna Brado created a unique, two-part hairstyle that involves a sleek waterfall braid on top while keeping the rest of the hair loose, textured and fun. Below, Brado shares the steps you need to recreate the look for your own party-going guests.

Get the Look:

1. First, prep hair with KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray for heat protection.

  2. Next, iron-curl hair into barrel curls for movement with a 2-inch curling iron. Starting at the front hairline, take a square section of hair and divide into two parts, cross over two times and begin adding hair into the middle of the two strands. You can create as many rows as you would like.

  3. Spray KMS California HAIRPLAY playable texture for soft hold and a workable, moldable texture. Finger-tease the hair, holding on to the ends while softly pushing the hair back on itself. This will create soft volume and wave in the ends of the hair.

4. Finish with KMS California HAIRSTAY dry xtreme hairspray for long-lasting hold.
