Chasing the Dream: Kiyah Wright's Journey to Successful Celebrity Stylist

Kudos to two-time, Emmy-winning celebrity hairstylist for keeping the tresses of television host Tyra Banks camera-ready for her closeups on America's Next Top Model. And when she’s not behind the scenes styling hair, she’s in front of the camera as the newest cast member for the OWN Network’s docu-series, Love in the City, set to air on April 12th. The reality show follows the lives of Wright and her three, life-long friends as they navigate the ups and down of life.

As a celebrity colorist, Wright serves as a brand ambassador for Clairol, a leader in professional hair color. She is also the founder of the Muze hair care line, which she launched with styling products, including the popular “Last Look” hairspray. Wright's work has graced the covers and pages of such magazines as Vanity Fair, Elle, Glamour, Vogue, In Style, Redbook, More, Billboard, Essence, and Ebony. Her goal is to give everyday women that “Hollywood look.”

But the award-winning stylist's life wasn't always so glamorous. From humble beginnings cutting hair in her mother's basement, Wright worked toward a dream she'd had ever since she was a little girl. Check out the video below to see how Wright went from beauty school to in-demand celebrity stylist, and tune into Love in the City on April 12th.
