The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is now accepting applications for the 2014 Minerva Beauty Scholarship. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in an accredited cosmetology school. The application deadline is May 31, 2014.
"We are proud to continue this scholarship in 2014 and appreciate the opportunity to give back to the cosmetology community. Supporting the future of the industry through educational assistance has been incredibly rewarding and we are impressed by the ever-increasing talent we see entering the field," said Jay Rawl, President of Minerva Beauty, Inc.
The five scholarship recipients will be chosen and notified by email. All scholarships are funded by Minerva Beauty and administered by PBA Foundation. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair.
Over 120 applications were received for the 2013 PBA Minerva Beauty Scholarship. Although the selection process was difficult given the high caliber of applicants, the PBA committee responsible for awarding scholarships is proud to announce the following 2013 scholarship recipients:
- Shannon Braunschwieg, Randolph, WI
- Sergio Estrada, Chicago, IL
- Erin Nieli, Lantona, FL
- Tricey Wilks, West Lafayette, IN
- Andrea Yocky, Venice, CA
The winners will be honored at a scholarship presentation at the 2015 International Salon and Spa Expo, Long Beach.
