Nothing feels better than batting a thousand—especially when it comes to outstanding barbering! Proving this point, Andis was the lead sponsor for the first Major League Barber Competition at the International Salon and Spa Expo held in Long Beach, CA.

It’s a great forum for some of the nation’s top barbers to push their styling skills to the extreme,” says Harry Szczukowski, National Sales Manager for Andis. “This is a very exciting time to see the rise in popularity of clipper cuts and barber competitions at cosmetology shows.”
With standing room only, four cutting competitions were held: Fastest Fade, Shear Talent, Conservative Cut and the Tag Team Challenge.
The first-place winners were Edward Mercado for Fastest Fade, Angel Llewellyn for Shear Talent, Alex Bailey for Conservative Cut, and for the Tag Team Challenge, Fredo Olan and Ernie Torres. Each winner received a trophy, cash prize and sponsor prize packs including Andis tools. Mercado placed in the top three in all four competitions and was awarded the Solid Gold Barber Award for winning multiple events.
