Hair Trends: All That Glitters is Gold

The Spring 2014 runways at New York Fashion Week, including Jason Wu, Elie Saab, Lela Rose, Dries Van Noten and Dior, were glittering with golden accents. From bronzed skin to gilded eyelids to shimmering strands, gold took center stage, and inspired KEVIN.MURPHY stylist and founder, Kevin Murphy, to recreate a wearable take on the high-fashion look. Murphy suggests using SHIMMER.SHINE, a repairing shine mist, or SHIMMER.BUG, a temporary color hair shadow, to get the same effect as the gold detailing seen adorning the hair of Fashion Week models.

According to Murphy, "adding gold detail to your hair with styling products is an easy way to adopt one of the season’s biggest trends. For a golden, dewy look, SHIMMER.SHINE features a light-reflective technology derived from skincare formulation to give hair brilliant shine with no oily residue. Simply spray lightly over hair after styling for a luminous finish or wear at the end of the day over naturally dried hair for a misty, golden look that’s perfect for summer nights.

“SHIMMER.BUG gives hair multi-dimensional, golden highlights without the commitment of permanent color. I recommend using this product around the face rather than on the ends. Wear SHIMMER.BUG over the top of side-parted hair, at the roots, or soften a slicked-back hairstyle by incorporating product at the hairline.”

SHIMMER.SHINE contains treatment ingredients such as essential oils, bioflavonoids and vitamins to repair damaged hair. Other key ingredients include Australian rainforest fruit extracts rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, antioxidant Immortelle, and Boabab seed oil to moisturize and improve elasticity.
SHIMMER.BUG gives hair instantaneous metallic highlights with color that washes out after one use for a fun, temporary look.
