Three Days of Great Hair with The Perfect Blow Dry

According to Founding Partner of the Sam Villa brand and Education Artistic Director for Redken 5th Avenue, Sam Villa, "the perfect blow dry should last at least three days." A three-day style is surprisingly easy to achieve, and Villa recommends that you "show your clients how to blow dry properly, with the correct products, proper blow dryer and the right brush, and they will get three looks out of one blow dry." Here's how it's done:

DAY 1:
-Shampoo hair and apply conditioner from mid to ends only. Avoiding conditioner in the root area helps promote volume.
-Mix a small amount of Redken Satinwear 02 Ultimate Blow Dry lotion with two drops of Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine and apply first to the ends, then the mid shaft. This prepares hair for styling, protects against heat appliances, and helps to reduce frizz.
-Divide and clip hair into sections for more control.
-Use a Sam Villa Signature Series Styling Brush with boar bristles that work well for smoothing, or the Sam Villa Signature Series Oval Brush, which grabs hair at the root and helps build volume.
-Direct the nozzle of the E-T.C Light Professional Ionic Hair Dryer (exclusively for Sam Villa) at the section of hair on the brush. A professional blow dryer has more power and a cool shot to lock in styling.
-Finish with Redken Wax Blast 10 High Impact Finishing Spray Wax to reduce frizz, add shine, and hold volume.

DAY 2:
-Spray Redken Powder Refresh 01 aerosol hair powder/dry shampoo at the roots and comb through to extend the life of the blow dry. The powder absorbs oil and refreshes style.

DAY 3:
Option 1: Organic Texture:
-Braid hair on the evening of day 2, take out braids the morning of day 3 and finger-comb to break up the organic texture.

Option 2: Sleek and Chic:
-Apply Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil to smooth, soften, condition, and add shine. Then, define a low side part, brush hair back with the Sam Villa Signature Series Styling Brush and secure into a ponytail.

Despite what your clients may think, achieving three days of great hair from a single blow dry is both possible and easy.
