The next generation of Kardashian-Jenners Kendall and Kylie Jenner are stepping into the spotlight and Joico Celebrity Stylist George Papanikolas recently upgraded their hair color. Kylie opted for a dramatic, deep brunette, while her sister Kendall received a subtle balayage highlight enhancement for her natural medium-brown hue. Here, George shares his color strategies.

He applied the formula to Kylie’s Level 5 hair, roots to ends and processed for 20 minutes.
“This dark brown formula looks black,” he explains, “but it’s still shiny and reflective.”
