Reason I became a hairstylist: I LOVE the fashion and beauty industry, and how you can transform people, not only on the outside, but on the inside as well.

Best advice I ever received regarding my career in hair/beauty: Everyone has their own career path, don't judge your career based on theirs.  Everyone’s path is different, so celebrate where you are and know that if you work hard you will get where you want to be.

Best advice I would give to a new hairstylist starting out: Be a go-getter and just do it, even if you’re scared.  It is better to fail forward then to stay in place because you are scared. I guess it really goes with that saying "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

Funniest thing that ever happened to me in a salon: I am a full-time educator, so the most embarrassing thing that ever happened was my pants fell down while I was teaching class. The worst thing is I didn't notice at first.
