Brave Shave at G Salon for Childhood Cancer Research

Twenty-five brave shavees accepted the lofty challenge issued by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and shaved their heads in exchange for donations to help raise money for childhood cancer research. $9,488 was raised locally as part of a worldwide effort to Conquer Kids’ Cancer.

Participants find that shaving their head is a small sacrifice in comparison to what these children endure. Volunteer “shavees” of all ages are willing to lose their locks to raise money to help fund the most promising research in pediatric oncology.

The event was held at G Salon in North Haven, CT with stylist Kathleen Rocheleau organizing the event with the help of Gail Ardolino, owner of G Salon, and Madison Adamo and Erika Carr, fellow stylists at the salon, as well as numerous volunteers and shavees. Among the 25 shavees was a team from the North Haven Police Department, who raised over $3,000 as a group. The funds raised from this successful event go to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, aiding in the research to conquer pediatric cancer.
