Nail lacquers tell tales from the dark side this fall, with bizarro shades playing the main characters.
Each fall, polish shades plunge into the deep end; it’s an expected direction for which we’re always ready. But this season, a plethora of the darkest, most unexpected hues have surfaced, and the outré will most certainly become the norm for your clients.
Sparkling Kelly green with prismatic glitter; swarthy olive laced with tendrils of gold and black; tempting teal with chunks of jade and sapphire glitter; inky gray with swirls of silver and multihued shimmer—these tones coax out the daredevil in us all, inviting your clients to coat their toenails and even—gasp!—fingernails in these madcap tones.
Of course, the extremes are tempered, but only slightly. For those clients whose forays into lacquer hues are touchingly tame, creamy gray with dark lavender undertones, dusky bronze with flecks of gold or smoky topaz with shimmering burgundy may be their most sedate options. But not to worry—though taking the plunge might incite an initial fear of the unknown, by season’s end the unexpected will become the beauty rule.
