Beauty Industry Mourns the Loss of Pat Drake

Pat Drake, a loved and well-respected beauty industry icon, passed away in her sleep at her home in Temecula, California on Sunday, March 6, 2011.  A national and international master colorist recognized for her unparalleled ability to educate and inspire hairdressers with her passion and talent, Pat most recently served as Director of Education for ENJOY Professional Hair Care.
 
Pat was an expert at building strong education, training and sales teams, as well as writing and implementing technical, training and educational materials and programs.  She also had comprehensive product development qualifications specializing in professional hair color and wet lines.
 
Originally from the upstate area of Lockport, New York, Pat’s career spanned over 30 years.  In that time, she acted as Regional Education Manager for Redken, Western Regional Sales Manager for Malys Los Angeles, and International Color Director for L’anza.  She was also a licensed instructor and taught at various beauty schools and colleges including John Perry Academy, Marinello School of Beauty, Career Academy and Paul Mitchell Partner Schools.

Pat was cherished by those whose lives she touched and will be fondly remembered for her absolute passion for teaching hands-on and the wealth of knowledge she brought to the industry.  She leaves behind her husband, John Drake, son, Michael Drake, daughter, Jamie Mathewson and three grandchildren: Andrew, Karena and Daniel.
