Just as jazz dance emphasizes the downbeat, so too does Cole—at least theoretically. “I strive for the unexpected, for the road less traveled, for what people don’t usually see. I get more out of resistance.” But he still has an eye for the lovely. “I like to make things beautiful,” avers Cole. “I still keep beauty and balance while employing a shift. I take it to the next level, always keeping this in mind: Different isn’t always better, but better is always different.”
