Matt Hom, cosmetology manager at Bellus Academy, was recognized as Regional Instructor of the Year during Sebastian Professional’s regional What’s Next competition on Sunday, December 4, in Los Angeles. The Instructor of the Year finalists were nominated by students participating in the competition.
Throughout his career, Hom has been honored with numerous awards and recognition. After winning the Wella Professionals North America Trend Vision competition in 2012, he traveled to Madrid Spain where he represented North America competing against hairstylists from 58 nations at the global Trend Vision Awards.
While Matt continues to receive honors and industry recognition, his focus remains on helping NextGen beauty and wellness professionals advance their craft. “It is a tremendous privilege to share my passion for this industry with the next generation of professionals,” Hom said. “One of the great things about the beauty business is the commitment professionals share to pay our success forward and help students forge successful career paths.”
In January 2017, Sebastian will announce finalists for the National What’s Next Competition and Awards to be held in Dallas, Texas, March 5, 2017. “Matt is an incredible asset to the Bellus Academy team and we are thrilled to celebrate his acceptance of the Regional Educator of the Year award,” said Lynelle Lynch, owner of Bellus Academy.
