NYFW SS 2016: The Party Girl Plait at Art Hearts Fashion

For the Art Hearts Fashion presentation of Mister Triple X at New York Fashion Week, lead hairstylist T. Cooper (Metro Look) was sponsored by Marrakesh Hair Care to create a fun, party-inspired look. “I was really excited to create something fun for the Mister Triple X collection, because his models would be wearing large bunny ears!” said Cooper. "The inspiration was a girl who enjoys life, loves to have fun, and doesn’t take her hair too seriously." With this in mind, Cooper created a twisty, braided ponytail, nicknamed "The Party Girl Plait."

Get the Look:

  1. To begin, Cooper created a center part, then used Marrakesh Hold styling gel to create a sleek ponytail.
  2. Next, using a NuMe curling wand, Cooper created texture in the ponytail, adding a few drops of Marrakesh Pure Argan Oil for shine.
  3. Then, Cooper split the ponytail into four sections, braiding two of the sections and lightly teasing the other two to create volume.
  4. To finish the look, Cooper created a twisted braid by intertwining all of the sections.

The Art Hearts Fashion runway shows fuse art and fashion, and are presented by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Art Hearts Fashion was founded in 2011 by philanthropist and designer of Mister Triple X, Erik Rosete.
