Scientists May Have Just Made a Huge Breakthrough In Finding the Cure For Hair Loss

Researchers in La Jolla, California at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute may be getting close to finding a cure for hair loss! The research, done on mice, showed that stem cells taken from human skin could be used to grow hair.

Dr. Alexey Terskikh, a professor and member of the research team explained, "The method is a marked improvement over current methods that rely on transplanting existing hair follicles from one part of the head to another. Our stem cell method provides an unlimited source of cells from the patient for transplantation and isn't limited by the availability of existing hair follicles." This means that if the technique works on humans, it could be possible for those suffering from hair loss to grow plenty of new hair.
