The holiday season is a time for being thankful and spreading joy, and helping those in need is the perfect way to give back. Hairstylist and wig maker Darnell Wold was inspired to help those less fortunate than him by providing hope to a child battling cancer in the form of a beautiful wig.
Says Wold, "I was fortunate enough to handcraft and donate a wig to this little princess. Apryl Padilla is six years old and [was] diagnosed with stage four brain cancer [when] she was two years old. Despite all that she's going through, she still remains full of life and has the most adorable personality."
The process of battling cancer caused Apryl to lose most of her hair, but Wold was able to provide comfort and hope. "I was fortunate enough to create a wig similar to Apryl's natural curl pattern and surprise her lovely family," says Wold. "Being a hairstylist for over 11 years, I've never felt more fortunate and blessed with my artistry and talent. I have finally found a way to bring my passion for the beauty industry and my life as a humanitarian together as one."
