Raw Curls Academy Announces Upcoming Class Specializing in Curly and Textured Hair

Raw Hair Organics hair care and Raw Curls Academy founder, Melanie Nickels – an ABCH Master Hair Colorist, beauty industry educator and salon owner - will be hosting a 2‐day class on September 21 & 22, 2014 in Naples, Florida. This is a not‐to‐be‐missed educational event for stylists wanting to learn the latest techniques, tips and trends for curly, wavy and textured hair clients. Nickels developed the Raw Curls Cutting System, which will be the focal point of the training class.

With advanced training in the Deva, Curlisto and Ouidad techniques, combined with years under the tutelage of World and British Hair Champion, Malcolm Brown (who has enthusiastically joined Melanie’s team at Raw Curls Academy as an educator), Melanie has dedicated herself to developing a specialized technique: Raw Curls Cutting System. The Raw Curls Cutting System training includes the fundamentals of cleansing and hydration for curly/texture hair, detoxing, dry and wet cutting, as well as proper product application. Students will be working with live models as well as mannequins. For an added bonus, Melanie will teach hair coloring with ammonia-free hair color specifically designed for curly or wavy hair.

The curly and wavy hair category in salons is growing rapidly as clients are re-embracing their natural texture. Training in the Raw Curls technique is the perfect opportunity to meet this growing trend and be set apart as a curly hair specialist. Not only will participants learn cut and color techniques, but will take away the ability to educate their clients on how to best care for their beautiful locks.

The 2-day training will be from 9am-5pm at the Raw Hair Organics Salon.
