Trendsetters: This Little Wig

While the trend may never gain much traction on the streets, crowning pates with wigs seems to be the catwalk's quick-change call this spring. Leading the faux show: hairstylist Sam McKnight, who snipped onyx wigs into choppy bowl cuts at Fendi and flicked and molded a spectrum of synthetic strands at Chanel. He even claimed that "wigs are the new hats," and Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau might be apt to agree; he asymmetrically cropped wheat-hued wigs at Marc Jacobs, mimicking the effect of a girl taking "the scissors to her own hair, completely confident and entirely in tune with her own personal style," he explains.
