Before and After: Extending Options by Olivia Taylor Salon

The beauty team of Jaime Queenin and Rita Carda of Olivia Taylor Salon in Anaheim Hills, CA recently created two new makeovers. Both transformations showcase the use of hair extensions to produce dramatically beautiful results, and each look was styled two different ways to highlight the versatility of the gorgeous makeovers. Aubrey

Aubrey started out with a red hue and length that reached just past her shoulders.

Her color was refreshed and panels of brownish red, ruby red and a cooler red were added using 20-inch lengths of Dreamcatchers individual hair extensions, which were colored to match Aubrey’s own hair. The extensions were cut to blend in and to extend the face framing of her own hair.

The First Look: This sleek and edgy look offers ultra smooth length and a robustly bold fringe.

Get the Look: Layer on Kevin Murphy Shimmer Shine and Olivia Taylor Prime Me all over and then add Anti Gravity on the roots of damp hair. Blow dry with a round brush, misting with Damage Manager for thermal protection before flat ironing.

The Second Look: A deep side part and rolling retro-inspired waves are swept off to one side.

Get the Look: Apply Kevin Murphy Hair Resort on sections and wrap around a medium curling iron. Roll all sections in back under and alternate the curl direction on the sides. Transfer each curl from the curling iron to a larger roller and allow to cool off. Run a soft boar bristle brush through; sweep hair to one side and pin against the nape to hold. Finish with Session Spray to hold.

Kelly

Kelly had mid-length hair to her shoulders, with a warm blonde color and some level 7 warm lowlights.

Stylists applied a heavy weave to remove the gold blond low light, toning over the top for a more ashy finish. Reusable extensions were added and cut to blend.

The First Look: An undone mane of bedroom hair with super smooth fringe and frothy wave through the length.

Get the Look: Apply Kevin Murphy Young Again leave-in conditioner all over and then add Anti Gravity for oil free volume from the roots to the ends. Add Hair Resort texture spray for a beached look while hair is still wet. Scrunch dry with a diffuser and add more Hair Resort when finger-styling hair into place.

The Second Look: Smooth fullness on top leads to barely there waves on the ends.

Get the Look: Blow dry with a round brush to control any natural texture, back comb and smooth back over the surface. Lightly curl the ends with a medium iron.
