Retro Hollywood glam meets the strength of the modern woman in this sexy, feminine collection by Dilek Onur-Taylor, Artistic Regional Leader for jcp salons and Joico Guest Artist. Dilek designed her looks with exaggerated texture—crimps, frothy waves and luscious, loopy curls—and as a result, the collection was selected as a finalist in the 2013 NAHA Texture category!
Dilek says that she is drawn to highly textured looks because textured hair supports her sculptural talents. “Textured hair is easier to mold,” she explains. “I can form it into any shape.” She also chose a soft, peachy pink palette for the shoot, to reflect the feminine quality of the looks.

aerodynamic shape. To get the look, Dilek applied Joico JoiLotion Sculpting Lotion to damp hair for a combination of hold and shine. She dried the hair and created small subsections. She curled each section, using a ¼ inch curling iron from the hairline to the crown and then switched to a 1 inch iron for the remainder of the hair. She twisted each strand as she curled. Finally, she lightly backcombed the cooled curls with her fingers for a billowy effect. To create the unique, peach champagne hue, Dilek pre-lightened strands to pale blonde, added pea-sized drops of orange and bright pink direct dyes to a rich conditioner and applied roots to ends.
