Celebrity gift recipients included BET CEO Debra Lee, Tamar Braxton (Braxton Family Values), David Mann (Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns), gospel singer Tamala Mann and singer Angie Stone (R&B Divas). While inside the lounge, celebrities were encouraged to tweet @HAIRFINITY#BETEXPERIENCE in an effort to raise money for Ann’s Helping Hands, a non-profit organization that serves as an all-inclusive outlet for cancer patients, providing a variety of goods and services at no cost for their clients.
Hairfinity’ s support of breast cancer awareness, prevention and helping women to lead healthier lives was also demonstrated as a pink-level sponsor of Hair’s A Cure: A Pink & Black Affair, a breast cancer awareness event in Chicago several months ago. Thirty percent of everything raised was donated to Pin-A-Sister, a breast cancer awareness campaign to educate and engage women in taking control of their breast health. The remaining proceeds were put into Hair’s A Cure, Inc. to begin funding cancer treatments to African-American women and men when their doors are expected to open later this year.
