New, wild textures are essential to fall and micro crimping is rapidly returning to the beauty scene! PRAVANA guest artist and NAHA winner Sherri Jessee share the behind-the-scenes on how this bold textured punk undo is created.
Step 1: To obtain the fiery color, PRAVANA Artistic Color Director Vadre Grigsby tells us his preferred formula: Pre-lighten sections with Pure Light Power Lightener. Mix 1 oz 5N + 1 oz 5 R with 2 1/2 oz PRAVANA Zero Lift Developer for an all over color. Dry the hair and overlay pre-lightened pieces with RED ChromaSilk VIVIDS and process 20 minutes.
Step 2: Beginning at the bottom and working up using small sections, hair is micro crimped to create a ridged and tousled texture. This technique builds bulk and transforms glassy smooth strands, making them easy to shape, style and hold.
Step 3: Pin hair up to create an edgy version of the classic French twist.
Step 4: Spray hair using PRAVANA’s Super Shape Hair Spray for hold and ultimate shine.
