Andrew Biazis has joined Keune Haircosmetics USA, Inc. as chief operating officer. In this new position, Biazis will tap his 25-plus years experience in professional beauty leadership roles to transform the North American organization of this global Dutch manufacturer of professional hair care products into a key player in the marketplace. He reports to the founder, George Keune, CEO.
“Currently sold in almost 70 countries, Keune Haircosmetics, has been a global leader in the professional beauty business for more than 90 years. That gives the company great credibility with hairdressers, but in the United States, it’s one of the best-kept secrets,” explains Biazis. “What I admire about the company is that its reason for existence and motivation is to serve the salon and solely support hairdressers, fulfilling Keune’s long-standing vision of providing hairdressers with the tools for creating The Art of Hair Design." Biazis continues, “As the market learns more about the company’s high performance hair color, care and styling products, Keune will attain a leadership role in the U.S. and Canadian beauty marketplaces. We already provide salons with a professional-only partner that has vast global resources offering the highest quality products and education. Going forward, we will build upon the dedication and achievements by the Keune family exhibited over three generations.”
A high-energy and results oriented executive, Biazis has transformed both Fortune 10 and family-owned entrepreneurial organizations into dynamic, fast growing companies. Most recently, he served as executive vice president/global business for Nioxin Research Labs, which was acquired by Procter & Gamble in 2008. His accomplishments included improving the shareholder value through greater than industry sales growth; expanding the distributor store network; implementing strategic management systems and developing global distribution.
Prior to that, Biazis led the turnaround of Goldwell and the acquisition and re-launch of KMS California as president and CEO of Kao Professional Salon Services, Inc. North America. His leadership team achieved record profits while tripling the company’s sales over six years primarily through reorganizing the company, realigning the distribution network, outsourcing logistics and manufacturing, changing the marketing direction, executing a new education and show event plan, devising new sales management systems and instituting ongoing total cost reduction measurements to create capital for investment to drive the business.
His career has also included tenures as senior vice president of sales and business development for The Wella Corporation; general sales and marketing manager for Helene Curtis Industries, where he was employee number one and launched Innovative Styling Options (ISO), and eastern regional director of sales for Redken Laboratories, Inc..
Biazis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and business management at the University of Florida.
