Pedro José Muñoz from Spain won the first-ever American Crew Face Off Global Men's Styling Competition.
Recently, Launchpad joined American Crew as the company hosted its first-ever Face Off Global Men’s Styling Competition at the Sunset Towers hotel in West Hollywood, California. Six finalists from around the globe flew in for the event, which consisted of them styling a model and conducting a photo shoot. Their selections were judged by Craig Hanson, American Crew Creative Director; Sandra Nygaard, Senior Fashion and Grooming Editor at Men's Health; Taylor Jacobson, editorial fashion stylist; David Roemer, star editorial and commercial photographer; and Publisher Roberto Pissimiglia—and they debated the entries for four long hours before deciding the winners.
Dean Tsopanis was awarded the Men's Health Award and will receive a special editorial in an upcoming issue.
The first award of the evening, the Men’s Health Award, was given to Dean Tsopanis, who hails from Australia. Nygaard explained that his winning look captured what the Men’s Health reader is all about: Looking good without looking overdone. As part of his prize, Tsopanis will receive a special editorial in an upcoming issue of the magazine.
Being crowned the grand-prize winner visibly moved Spain’s Pedro José Muñoz. Head in hands, he stood on stage for a full five minutes without speaking while the room erupted in cheers and applause.

“I’ve been with American Crew for 19 years, and I’ve been fortunate to be part of the image making that helped build the brand,” says Hanson. “I was honored by each contestant’s interpretation of the American Crew brand. You should be so proud of yourselves!”
