Jared Leto stepped out with a new take on the rock n’ roll hair-do at the 2011 VMA Awards. Chase Kusero of Privé Salon worked with Leto to achieve this daring new look. They found inspiration in old classic rock n’ roll and haircuts that would be similar to the alter ego of Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie. The end result was a rounded mullet with modern texture. Just minutes before the VMA red carpet, the final look was put together by rough drying Privé’s Extended Texture Clay in Leto’s hair and finishing it with Privé’s Finishing Texture Spray to complete this effortless rocker look.
First, Chase cut a rounded blunt texture leaving the perimeter long and shattered to create a modern rock n’ roll mullet. Next, Kusero clipper cut both sides to really enhance the shape and to exaggerate the long back. He used Privé’s Foaming Styler to add texture and give the appearance of 3-day old hair. Then he roughly dried his hair with a simple blow dry, and ran his hands through Jared's hair with Privé’s Extended Texture Clay. This locked in the look for the red carpet!
