It's back! Battle of the Strands 2013 is about to get underway, giving salons and stylists the chance to show their stuff in a once-in-a-lifetime competition setting.
Billed as an "extreme hair, makeup and wardrobe salon competition," Battle of the Strands begins in NYC on April 14, where contestants will vie for a position in October's Las Vegas finals. Teams of three will present models in avant garde couture looks before a panel of industry icons. Twelve teams will qualify and have the opportunity to test their mettle through several extreme, challenging elimination rounds. On October 14, the final five will compete in Las Vegas for the championship title, with celebrity and industry icons judging their fate.
First produced for top salons in Las Vegas in 2011, Battle of the Strands saw Shear Genius judge Kim Vo lead his team to victory. It has since expanded to a national and international audience.
