Sonya Dakar hosted the Wish Upon A Teen Mother's Day Event, on Monday April 29th, in support with the Wish Upon A Teen (WUAT) organization. WUAT provides resources and opportunities to teenagers who are recovering from traumatic experiences. The event celebrated Mother's Day and paid tribute to teens battling cancer and the mother's who bravely face their daughters' illness every day.
The event took place at the Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic in Beverly Hills. Eight teens that are currently undergoing cancer treatments and their mother's came to escape from their daily challenges for a few hours to celebrate Mother's Day with beauty pampering. They left feeling primped like royalty.
The ladies enjoyed, manicures from China Glaze, makeup touchups from Stila Cosmetics, hair touchups from stylist Paul Ohana, and a delicious lunch provided by Palata catering.
Mothers and daughters came in looking tired and stressed and left red carpet ready -a feeling of confidence and normalcy for one day. One mother was so happy she said: “I have never really done anything like this before.”
This is Sonya's third year doing a spa pampering event for the teens and what makes it so rewarding is not only putting a smile on new faces, but seeing some of the girls we have treated from previous years in recovery. “We can’t wait to see these girls and moms next year and hear all about their success story. Who doesn’t love a happy ending?,” said skincare guru Sonya Dakar.
