The first school dedicated solely to the art of makeup artistry is set to open its doors in the Miami area. Media Make Up Academy will be opening its newest location on South Beach Miami in the summer of 2013.

As Amanda explains: " Miami is such a hot place to be full of great weather, beaches and now a huge up-and-coming art scene. Miami has always been a mecca for the fashion industry, but it is evolving into a world-class art scene with the addition of new neighborhoods such as Midtown and the Performing Arts District. Events such as Art Basel bring huge amounts of creative people to this area of Florida, so its the perfect atmosphere for my new school to open. Plus it's warmer than Chicago and more low-key than NYC."

Classes will be held in the beautiful MAPS Studio, located at 212 Collins Ave. Students will learn skills the needed to compete in the world of fashion and media makeup in a fabulous working photo studio.
The "Makeup 101" class will be offered starting July 29. The class is an intensive makeup course lasting 40 hours. Students will not only learn the art of make up but the all-important business end as well. Amanda brings students through her journey from starting out in the industry to her success in working with major magazines celebrities such as Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rosario Dawson, as well as ad campaigns for Neiman Marcus & Levi Strauss.
