Houston Women Magazine honored Sophy Merszei, NovaLash President and CEO, as one of Houston's Most Influential Women of 2012. Honorees were feted at an Afternoon Tea at the St. Regis Hotel on Sunday, January 6, 2013.
As the President and owner of NovaLash, Sophy is passionate about making every woman feel “instantly pretty.” To that end, the chemist relentlessly commits herself to developing only the most researched, physician-approved and face-friendly products—a vast contrast to other unregulated eyelash extensions imported from Asia. So successful has Sophy’s research been, that NovaLash products are currently being distributed (and adored!) globally.
Sophy is also especially proud of having fought for legislation to create more training that leads to higher-paying jobs for women ( of whom are single moms) in Texas. NovaLash opens the door for women in Texas that have only a GED or High School Diploma to potentially earn more than $100,000/year by providing a 320-hour Lash extensionist certification training course. Sophy believes in diligently educating, training and supporting NovaLash professionals, ensuring that customers feel as comfortable with their stylists as they do with their lash extensions.
In addition to her commitments as the face, voice, brain and heart of NovaLash, Sophy gives back to her community and her world by affiliating with charities such as Girls Inc. and the UNICEF Haiti Relief Fund for Children. She’s received the 2007 ICMAD Cosmetic Innovator of the Year Award. She was also recognized by the National Association of Professional Women with the associations VIP Women of the Year Award in 2011. Also in 2011 Sophy Merszei was voted one of Houston’s Most Beautiful Women by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine. NovaLash Eyelash Extensions have also been honored with Beauty Launchpad’s Reader’s Choice Award for Best Eyelash Extensions in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Her NovaLash LASHliner won Beauty Launchpad’s Reader’s Choice Award in 2009.
