Families In Need Cut-A-Thon

Ridone, Inc., a non-profit that provides beauty services to those in need, will partner with The Samaritan Center of Simi Valley, CA for the 2nd Annual "Families in Need" Cut-A-Thon, providing cosmetology services to the unemployed, homeless and underserved of the area on Saturday January 7, 2012, from 9am to 3pm.

"It's more than just a haircut. It's a day to reach out with kindness and get information to people who need it and these services tremendously boost self confidence and emotional well being" says Don Knypstra, Founder and President of Ridone, Inc.

In addition to financial participation, local residents can help by donating canned-goods, shoes, warm clothing and toys for children at The Samaritan Center.

The Samaritan Center is a daytime drop-in shelter that has been providing on-site service to Simi Valley people-in-need since 1994. The center serves about 200 clients per month, where the homeless and nearly homeless can take a shower, get clean clothes, have something to eat, make phone calls and receive mail and messages to help themselves become productive members of the community.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Samaritan Center and Ridone Inc.  Professional/licensed stylists and Simi Valley Adult School cosmetology students will be donating their time to provide the services.  Hair care products will be provided by REDKEN.
