Based on Census data, the Brookings Institute estimates that the 2.6 million workers in “personal services,” which includes barbershops and beauty salons, will be the third most vulnerable group to be affected by closures related to the novel coronavirus. Naturally, the pro beauty community is rallying together to help each other with everything from business tips to skills education to financial support. Included among that group is Coty Professional Beauty, which is deeply committed to help pros during this challenging time of uncertainty and has introduced the COVID-19 Industry Relief Package.
As part of its COVID-19 industry relief package, Coty Professional Beauty—which includes Wella Professionals, NIOXIN, Sebastian, Clairol Professional, Wella Color Charm, Kadus, System Professional, ghd and OPI—has established a fund of $200,000 to support stylists and manicurists through the Hairdressers at Heart program, awarding up to $1,000 per professional that can be used at their discretion. All licensed beauty pros are eligible. Funds will be awarded on a rolling basis starting on April 13 until all funds are awarded. Apply: www.beautyenvisionawards.com/hairdressersatheart
