Hairdressers Against AIDS in Inglewood, CA for World AIDS Day

In honor of World AIDS Day, on Thursday, December 1, 2011, L'Oreal's Hairdressers Against AIDS program will be at beauty schools across America, including the Inglewood Community Adult School of Barbaring & Cosmetology in Inglewood, CA, encouraging the HIV/AIDS conversation among future hairdressers.

Millions of people sit in salon chairs every day, speaking with their hairdressers about their lives. This is why Hairdressers Against AIDS was created as a global advocacy program that aims to empower the entire industry of hairdressers and salon professionals to use their unique relationship with their clients and communities to become a resource to interact, educate and help prevent the spread of HIV.

After launching in the U.S. one year ago, Hairdressers Against AIDS is taking their message one step further by engaging students and creating a strong voice from a younger generation to help spread the important HIV/AIDS awareness message.

Hairdressers Against AIDS (U.S.) is sponsored by The L’Oréal Fondation D’Enterprise in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Global Business Coalition on HIV AIDS, TB and Malaria (GBC), and is believed to be one of the largest HIV/AIDS mobilization campaigns in U.S. history. The campaign encourages all hairdressers and their clients to “Use Your Voice, Use Your Power, For A Beautiful World Without AIDS.”
