Fashion A-lister and co-owner of the internationally-acclaimed, award-winning Makeovers Salon + Spa in Easton, MA, Ed Blum, is headed backstage at Milan Fashion Week with the desire to bring all of the trend-setting, of-the-moment looks back to his salon. With 38 years of fashion industry experience, Blum is attending as many of this week’s 40 preview shows as possible, working on models, meeting trendsetters, and taking notes on the most popular hair and makeup trends.

Fresh off the plane from a whirlwind fashion tour of Istanbul, Blum reported from Milan’s Via Monte Napoleone upscale shopping district, “Milan is a melting pot of fashion. Streets are abuzz for those who made the lists. People flew in from around the world to meet here as though some holy moment in fashion was about to be born. The world’s leading designers transform elegant and influential palaces into stages to show off their creations. All the ‘in-the- know’ crowd gathered as fashion royalty held private showings in their galleries. Limousines and the finest French champagnes flooded the avenues as designers showed their finest collections.”

During his time at Milan Fashion Week, Blum is working with L’Oreal Professional world-famous stylist Laurent Decreton. “I owe them a debt of gratitude,” he said.

Blum counts among his clients such well-known faces as Kristian Alfonso of Days of Our Lives and TV Judge Maria Lopez. He was part of L’Oreal’s team for the Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B. Show in New York. The innovative master stylist in color and styling has worked with Vidal Sassoon, Jean Louis David, and Jacques Dessange. He has also worked with fashion designers like Donna Karan and was a featured artist at New York’s Fashion Week.
