A veritable bevy of celebrities channeled their star power for good when they attended Kathy Duliakas' 5th Annual Celebrity Oscar Suite and Party on Feb. 21 at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood. The invitation-only event—produced by Duliakas, hosted by Maleku Jewelry and presented by LA SkinAesthetics—benefited the KIND Campaign, an internationally recognized 501(C)(3) nonprofit movement, documentary and school assembly program that brings awareness to the harmful effects of bullying among girls. Guests at the event were invited to impart words of wisdom and encouragement to be included in the KIND KIT, an anti-bullying curriculum that will include the Finding Kind documentary and will be released to schools nationwide in fall 2013.
Guests in attendance recorded their PSAs before entering the gifting suite, where they were met with an array of jewelry, apparel, footwear, accessories, skincare and haircare products, food, cocktails and more. Among the present 200 members of Hollywood's elite were Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds), LuAnn de Lesseps (The Real Housewives of New York City), Stephanie Pratt (The Hills), Bonnie Wright and Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Rory Cochrane and Matt Nolan (Argo).
"I am thrilled that my 5th Annual Celebrity Oscar Suite and Party is benefiting such an amazing and worthwhile cause," says Duliakas. "The stars who came out today are being gifted such amazing products that it's only right that we all give something back. It's inspiring to see the overwhelming support that I've received from the Hollywood community for my event and the KIND Campaign."
For the first time, the entire event tweeted live as the action unfolded, by way of the Sweeet Swag Live Twitter Lounge. Celebrities, sponsors and media connected with their followers, who used the hashtag #SweeetSwag to tune in. The lounge resulted in well over 1 million Twitter impressions.
"It's always a treat to be invited to Kathy's suites because she does just a spectacular job," remarks attendee Carolyn Hennesy (True Blood). "In school, I was teased mercilessly. The cruelty of children is just staggering. This event is all for the cause—it's for the kids."
