Hair Color How To: Magenta Makeover by Susan Aw

Independent stylist Susan Aw (Instagram @susan.aw) recently created this gorgeous, magenta makeover for her client. Balayage highlights blend into rich, vibrant color for a truly stunning result. Below, Susan shares the steps she took to create this look.

Get the Look:
1. "Paul Mitchell Dual Purpose Lightener (DPL) + 20 vol. + Olaplex. Babylights into foil around the face, natural part, and crown.

2. "Paul Mitchell DPL + 30 vol. + Olaplex. Balayage starting in the back.

3. "Paul Mitchell DPL + 40 vol. + Olaplex. Moving into the front, continue balayaging. I increased the developer strength as I got closer to finishing. Lift everything to level 9-10.

4. "Shampoo and towel dry really well.

5. "Joico Intensity Purple and Magenta. Apply roots to ends and saturate really well. Process 20 minutes.

6. "Rinse and Olaplex #2.

7. "Shampoo/condition and finish/style."
